Tech-cycle offers a complete hard drive destruction service ensuring complete piece of mind. We destroy your hard drives using our mobile 10 Ton hydraulic press.

It doesn't require power so it's very GREEN and can be setup in almost any location.

Hard drive destruction

No data can ever be recovered once the drive has been crushed, the press pushes through the hard drive cracking it in half and physically bends the platters making it impossible to recover the data.

Serial number recorded

Asset tracked

If required we can record the serial number from each hard drive by scanning its bar-code which is then saved and can be added to your certificate of destruction.

Data destruction & crushing

Don't Risk it

Save yourself from the risk of Data Theft and take advantage of our Secure Data wiping & crushing service.

PLEASE NOTE: If you require any data from your data baring devices, please ensure this is done prior to disposal as our data wiping process will deem it unrecoverable.

Under the Data Protection Act 1998 any business processing personal data must comply with the eight enforceable principals of good practice (see legislation.gov.uk for details). When disposing of redundant IT equipment it is important to ensure all personal records will be deleted.

What happens

As soon as the equipment arrives into us the first thing we do, is remove the hard drives and any other data baring devices such as tape drives etc. They are then processed immediately to ensure your data is destroyed in the smallest time scale possible.

The only way to permanently destroy data, without physically destroying hard disks, is by overwriting the data by generating and recording random characters across the entire surface of the drive, resulting in all data being destroyed and file sizes reset to zero. We use the latest versions of this software on all hard drives initially, which can meet both US Military and UK Government Restricted standards if required. Basically these standards dictate that the drive has to be over written a minimum 3 times. The main benefit of using this method over others to destroy data, is it allows the hard drive to be reused.  This wiping process can be visually verified at our premises.

The software we use can destroy data on, SATA, SCSI, SAS drives and guarantee all data has been irreversibly removed. This software also produces a log detailing the process from start to finish – this can be produced for yourselves if you specifically request it prior to your collection.

All hard drives smaller than 80GB and any hard drives that are faulty or will not power on and cannot be erased are physically destroyed along with all other data baring devices (CDs, Floppy disks, USB dongles etc.) to ensure recovery is impossible.
